StarRupture Scanner Blueprint Location
The Scanner blueprint is found inside the Technical Lab of the Forgotten Engine, a massive terraforming machine landmark. Navigating this giant structure is more like a traditional dungeon crawl than a simple loot run. You will need to craft a Power Cell at your base before heading out, as the engine’s entrance is locked behind a dead terminal.
Where to Find the Scanner Blueprint in StarRupture
To obtain the Scanner blueprint, you must infiltrate the Forgotten Engine, descend to the Logistics level to restore power via the backup generator, and then navigate through the Control Center to reach the Technical Lab.
1. Prepare a Power Cell and Find the Entrance
The Forgotten Engine is a massive landmark visible from the starting orbital lander area. Head toward the left side of the engine. To get inside, you must have a Power Cell in your inventory, which can be crafted at your base. Use the Power Cell on the terminal at the entrance to power the emergency pod and gain your initial access card.
2. Enter the Instance and Gather Components
Once inside, your main map will stop working because you are in an instanced area. Use the maps posted on the walls to find your way to the Control Center in Sector A-1. While moving through the corridors, make sure to loot all bodies, chests, and rubble. You need to find four specific items hidden in this area to eventually craft the engine core.
3. Restore Power at the Logistics Level
The door to the Control Center is unpowered. To fix this, head down to the Logistics level via the stairs. This area is filled with blue infection spores that drain your shields. Move carefully and clear the spores as you go. When you reach the Cooling Station, we suggest throwing a grenade inside to clear out the alien swarm before proceeding to the backup generator room.
4. Restart the Backup Generator
In the generator room, the infection is at its strongest. You will lose shields quickly, so focus on destroying the spores around the generator immediately. Once you activate the generator, the air will clear and the power will return. Use the stairs to the left of the generator room to return to the main engine floor.
5. Access the Control Center and Technical Lab
Return to the Control Center door (now powered) and head inside. You’ll find a chest here with other blueprints, but for the Scanner, you must continue to the Technical Lab.
This is the area where the engine core is meant to be crafted. Follow the corridor and clear any remaining spores blocking the path to the lab.
6. Secure the Scanner Blueprint
Enter the Technical Lab and make sure to close the door behind you to block out spawning aliens. Search the containers inside the lab; one of them contains the Scanner Blueprint. Well done on finding it!
