StarRupture Forgotten Engine Walkthrough
The Forgotten Engine is a massive terraforming machine landmark located in the central region of the map. Completing this facility has become the ultimate goal for players looking to unlock fast travel via teleporters. It is visible from almost anywhere in the starting area, but entering and restarting the engine is a complex, multi-stage process that requires significant preparation and combat readiness.
How to Complete the Forgotten Engine in StarRupture
To successfully finish the Forgotten Engine quest, you must gain entry using a Power Cell, restore the facility’s power on the Logistics level, craft a new Engine Central Core in the technical lab, and finally defend the Control Center during the activation sequence.
1. Preparation and Finding the Entrance
The Forgotten Engine is a towering landmark that you can’t miss—it is a massive structure situated a fair distance from your initial Orbital Lander. To get inside, you must craft a Power Cell at your base (Basic Item Printer) before heading out.

Navigate to the left side of the Forgotten Engine hull. Look for a specific gap in the structure that leads to an entrance terminal. Insert your Power Cell into the terminal to power the door. Once inside, find the emergency pod to officially begin the instance.

2. Secure the Access Card and Navigate the Incubation
Inside the emergency pod area, grab the Access Card from the terminal. This card allows you to move deeper into the engine. Because this is an instanced dungeon, your main map will not work. You must rely on the maps posted on the walls to find your way to the Control Center in Sector A-1.

3. Looting Essential Components
As you move through the facility, you need to be extremely thorough with your looting. To craft the final Engine Core, you must find four specific items hidden throughout the facility.

- Search every dead body, red chest, and rubble pile.
- These components are vital; without all four, you cannot complete the engine startup sequence at the end.

4. Descend to the Logistics Level for Power
Upon reaching the Control Center door, you’ll find it is unpowered. Turn around and follow the corridor down to the stairs leading to the Logistics Level.

This floor is heavily infested with blue spores and “Vermin” aliens. I suggest taking it slow and clearing out every spore tumor you see. The infection will mess with your gear and drain your shields if you don’t keep the air clear.
5. Clear the Cooling Station and Restart the Generator
Follow the signs to the Backup Generator. You will eventually hit a cooling station filled with aliens. A grenade is the best way to clear this room quickly.

Once the area is clear, enter the generator room and immediately focus on destroying the blue spores surrounding the machine. Activating the generator restores power to the facility’s doors and terminals.

6. Retrieve High-Tier Blueprints in the Control Center
With power restored, head back up the stairs to the main floor and enter the now-unlocked Control Center door. Pick up the Access Card at the entrance as you will need it to unlock the main room as well as the Tech Stations level.

Inside, you will find a chest containing the Pressure Tank and Condenser blueprints. This room is also where you will eventually install the core, but first, you need to make one.

7. The Technical Lab and Engine Core Crafting
Follow the map to the Technical Lab. This route is often blocked by thick infection spores, so keep your weapon ready. Inside the Technical Lab, search the chests to find the Laser Emitter and Scanner blueprints.

Once the lab is secure, use the fabricator inside to craft the Main Engine Central Core using the four components you gathered earlier.

8. The Final Activation and Defense Sequence
Return to the Control Center and install the newly crafted core into the main panel. This begins the engine activation sequence (0% to 100%).

- Initialization Waves: The engine will stop at various intervals due to “Alien Life Forms Detected.”

- Quarantine Mode: Each time it stops, you must enter quarantine mode and kill every alien in the room to resume the countdown.

- The Final Stretch: The final wave at 95% is the most intense. Once all threats are neutralized, the engine reaches 100% and atmospheric testing begins.

Congratulations, you have successfully activated the Forgotten Engine! Completing this walkthrough unlocks the ability to research and build Teleporters, allowing for instant travel across Arcadia-7.
