Clearing the Grass Games MIX.R in Grounded 2
MIX.R’s make a return to Grounded right out of the gate of Early Access. The first MIX.R in Grounded 2 is the Grass Games MIX.R. As a result, we’ll be showing you where the MIX.R is exactly located, and a walkthrough clearing the Grass Games MIX.R in Grounded 2.
MIX.R Location
The first MIX.R is located in the “Grass Games” section of the Park. To be exact, the MIX.R itself is using a very large skateboard as shelter. As a result, looking out for this massive skateboard does wonders for locating it as quickly as possible. Below is a map image to help out and also get you on the right track ASAP!
MIX.R Strategy and Preparation
MIX.R’s are not for the faint hearted. This activity is more of a challenge than anything, due to spawning large amounts of creatures that you’ll have to defeat. All of this happens while defending the MIX.R itself. As a result, you’ll have to be prepared with the following:
- Good amount of healing items
- Upgraded Armor and Weapons
- Potential building materials
As you would expect from a large fight, healing items go without saying as being a key ingredient to success. Making sure you upgrade your Armor and Weapons with Quartzite and Marble goes a long way to dealing and taking maximum damage. Finally, while not a requirement, building materials can be helpful if you want to build some light fortification around the MIX.R. For example, walls that filter enemies into chokepoints or perhaps even turrets to help you out.
However, for our attempt at the fight – we’ll use ourselves and ourselves only. A good solo option is to utilize the secret weapon in Grounded 2 – the “Pinch Whacker”.
This option is a fantastic choice due to the AoE shock effect you receive after each 3rd hit in your standard attack chain. Although, in our example, we’ll be using a self-made (although simple) build that utilizes fast attacks, applying venom and gaining damage from the target being affect by venom. The build uses these various synergies:
- Gloom Skewer
- Wolfsbane Fangs
- Northern Armor 3-set
- Astonishing Acid Trinket
The above helps you obliterate targets with Venom and 3rd-hit synergies with fast attacks to output them as much as possible.
Clearing the MIX.R
Now that we’re ready, lets activate the MIX.R.

To activate the MIX.R, you’ll have to clear every O.R.C. Transmitter that’s still active in the “Wait, There’s More!” quest. After you’ve cleared that quest, the “Overload!” quest is next on the list – which is to actually complete the MIX.R!
Aiming your cursor at the MIX.R shows you the type of bugs you should expect to encounter, but also the reward given for completing the challenge.
Wave 1
Activating the MIX.R overdrive sequence begins the first wave of bugs to attack it. The wave consists primarily of Orb Weavers, Spiderlings and Weevils.
It is important to run at the Weevils when you spot them and hit them as soon as you can. This is due to the O.R.C. versions of them exploding if they reach their target and are left alive. As a result, keeping them away from the MIX.R and even your Buggy can prove useful.
Wave 2
The second wave begins with a few Red Ant Soldiers and a couple of Ladybugs. Between this initial spawn of bugs is another small wave of Weevils you’ll have to rush to and defeat before they can explode.
Wave 3
After wave 2 ends, there’s a brief resting period to heal up, loot up and prepare for the third wave. The third wave starts with several Northern Scorpions, but also some Weevils too.
Shortly after, continue waves of various bugs begin spawning after each other – starting with more Red Soldier Ants and Orb Weavers.

Finally, an O.R.C. Praying Mantis Nymph spawns and acts as the “finale” to the MIX.R defense. If you’ve managed to fend off the other bugs before the Mantis appears, you’re in for a much easier time. As a result, it’s important to be ready for any bugs spawning on each side of the MIX.R to ensure the final fight isn’t as chaotic.
MIX.R Complete!
Congratulations, after taking down the Mantis, the MIX.R completes the progress meter and you can claim your reward. This fight is a particularly gruesome battlefield, however, this can come with general issues. We recommend picking up as much of the bug loot during the fight as possible – your games performance may suffer with the amount of bodies.
For your hard efforts, 3000 Raw Science, another quest complete and a satisfying victory lap back to home base.
