Where to Find Wither Sting in Grounded 2 (Toxic Tangle)

The Wither Sting Staff is a hidden magic weapon introduced in the Toxic Tangle update for Grounded 2. It is found inside a small underground cave near the trash can by the Park Bench area and requires a Tier 3 Omni Hammer to access.

How to Get the Wither Sting Staff

Step 1: Start at the Park Bench Ranger Outpost

Begin at the Park Bench Ranger Outpost and head toward the nearby trash can in the surrounding area.

Before setting off, use the interactive Grounded 2 map to locate the Park Bench, trash can, and nearby landmarks so you know exactly where to go.

You will need a Tier 3 Omni Hammer to complete this guide. If you do not have one yet, make sure to unlock it before continuing.

Step 2: Enter the Cave Near the Trash Can

Near the trash can, look for a small cave entrance in the ground. This opening leads into the underground area where the weapon is hidden.

Ride your Red Ant into the cave if possible, as it makes movement easier. Be cautious of Bombardier Beetles as you descend.

Continue straight down into the cave until you reach a section with visible roots sticking up from the ground.

Step 3: Break the Sour Candy Blockage

In the cave, you’ll find a path blocked by Sour Candy.

Use your Tier 3 Omni Hammer to break the Sour Candy blocking the passage. Make sure to collect the Sour Candy pieces after breaking it.

Leaning directly against the broken Sour Candy is the Wither Sting Staff.

Step 4: Collect the Wither Sting Staff

Pick up the Wither Sting Staff from the cave wall.

This staff features a Tang-based attack and provides Puckered Recovery, making it a strong choice for players who favor magic-style combat builds.

Step 5: Exit the Cave

To leave the area, simply backtrack the same way you entered.

Drop down slightly, then head straight up and out of the cave entrance. There are no additional routes or hazards on the way out.

Once outside, you can safely test the weapon in daylight or enter Photo Mode to get a better look at it.
