Welcome to our builds section for Grounded 2. Here, we’ll take you through everything you need to know to utilize the BEST Venom Rogue DPS build currently in Grounded 2. There is a few angles you can take the Rogue archetype, however, we’ll be taking the route of consistent DPS.
Venom Rogue Build Overview
Venom Rogue is a consistent high DPS build managing multiple synergies to deal fantastic damage to any type of enemy in Grounded 2. For this build, we’ll be utilizing fast light attacks through dual-daggers, status effect applications and our 3-hit combos.

Weapons
The Wolfsbane Fangs Dual-Daggers are a must-use for a Venom Rogue build to succeed. Not only does the weapon have great stats, but also falls under the category of a very fast 3-hit combo weapon. As a result, our build plays around the idea of getting as many 3-hit combos out as possible, while empowering the 3rd hit itself. The Wolfsbane Fang provides the “Venom Attack” passive – which put simply – applies Venom build-up on each hit. This effect is crucial to activate your maximum damage output as you’ll see in a later section.
To craft the Wolfsbane Fangs, you’ll need the following:
Optional Extra Weapon
The Gloom Skewer in Grounded 2 is a fantastic secondary weapon option for this build. The best way to utilize this weapon is to start a fight with a charged attack from the Gloom Skewer. This is because the Skewer’s passive lowers an enemies Stabbing Resistance for a period of time. As a result, we can then fast swap to the Wolfsbane Fangs (which are also Stabbing Damage!) to gain maximum output.
Armor
Following a simple path of synergy stacking and gear set-bonus options, we’ve opted for the Northern set.
The Northern 3-set provides you with the Rogue Armor archetype set-bonus. Rogue Armor increases the Critical Hit Chance of your final hit in a 3-hit combo. The second passive massively synergizes with the Wolfsbane Fangs – Double Deal gives you increased damage to enemies affected by Venom.
To craft the full set of Northern, you’ll need the following materials:
- Scorpion Venomx3
- Northern Scorpion Chunk x11
- Blueberry Leather x9
- Northern Scorpion Stingerx2
- Silk Rope x3
Rogue Trinket
For this build in particular, we recommend using the Astonishing Acid Trinket. Found early on, the Astonishing Acid Trinket is craft-able at your nearest Workbench.
The Trinket provides you with the “Finale Damage” passive. Finale Damage increases the damage dealt on your 3rd and final hit of your 3-hit combo. This effect further pushes the power of your fast 3-hit combos ensuring you get more damage on your final hits alongside the other effect bonuses previously mentioned.
Mutations
The best Mutations to use for the Venom Rogue build are “Assassin” and “Frenzy“.
Assassin provides the user equipped with it a bonus amount of Critical Hit Chance to Dash Strikes. While we’re not focused on Dash Strikes, this can be helpful in general at times. However, the best part of the Assassin effect for us is the increased Critical Hit Damage when using Dual Daggers.
Frenzy is a simple yet effective rush-down effect that benefits the build massively. Frenzy activates a buff called “Rage“. While you’re enraged, you’ll deal increased damage and regenerate Health, but cannot block properly. The playstyle around this Mutation is perfect for us as we plan to spam as many 3-hit combos as possible.
Recommended Consumable
For the Venom Rogue, we recommend using “Sticky Liquid Rage” for increased damage.
How to Play the Venom Rogue DPS Build
Playing the Venom Rogue is fortunately VERY easy to play and a great way to start the game for a new player. Simply stay up-close and personal and continuously swing your 3-hit combo light attacks and you’ll immediately gain all your benefits and deal insane DPS! This is due to all of the above effects activating simultaneously. The only additional way to switch up the gameplay is to include the Gloom Skewer at the start of any fight for more damage. This is achieved by landing a Charged Attack with the Gloom Skewer, then switching weapons to the Wolfsbane Fangs.
