Where to Find the Spider Den Optical Disk in Grounded 2
Make your way to the Spider Den Anthill’s North Entrance in Pine Hill, near the glowing Worm Holes candy container on the second level. Once inside, stick to the right at every turn, and you’ll quickly reach a chamber with a body on the right side — the Spider Den Optical Disk is located on the ground next to it.
How to Reach the Spider Den Anthill
Start by heading to the Pine Hill region in Grounded 2, a hilly, forested area filled with layered terrain and hidden pathways. Your destination is the Spider Den Anthill, located in the northwestern corner of the map.
Use the North Entrance, which can be found in the northeastern section of Pine Hill, on the second elevation level. If you’re having trouble spotting it, look for the Worm Holes candy container nearby — it glows faintly at night and sits near the entrance hole.
Navigating the Spider Den
Before heading inside, make sure you’re prepared — the tunnels are packed with spiders and ants, and although they may fight each other, they won’t hesitate to attack you as well.
To locate the disk, enter the anthill and simply follow the tunnel downward, keeping to the right at every turn. This straightforward method will naturally lead you to the correct chamber without the need to memorize complex routes.
If you come across a room containing a webbed Queen Ant, you’ve gone too far. Turn back and take the previous right-hand path. Look for a root hanging from the ceiling at the correct archway — that’s a good indicator you’re close. If you’re riding a buggy, you may need to dismount to fit through.
Finding the Optical Disk
Once inside the hidden chamber, check the right side of the room. You’ll find a corpse on the floor. Loot the body to collect some bandages and Brittle Marble Shards, but the Spider Den Optical Disk itself is lying on the floor beside the body — make sure to grab it before leaving.
Science Shop Unlocks from the Disk
Once you have the disk, return to any Ranger Station. It can be used at the Science Shop to unlock the following upgrades:
- 🛠 Smithing: Brittle Plating – 1,000 Raw Science
- 🍽 Cookbook: Spider Den – 2,500 Raw Science
- 🏀 Alley-oop! – 1,000 Raw Science
- 🏗 Curved Bases – 2,500 Raw Science
- 🪧 Sign Set: Twin Pines – 3,000 Raw Science
Tips Before You Go
- Equip web-resistant armor and bring plenty of antidotes.
- Bring a torch or headlamp — the tunnels are very dark.
- Be prepared to fight Orb Weavers and Spiderlings.
- Stick to the right-hand rule — it’s the easiest way to stay on the correct path.
