Where To Find Pumpkin Patch Optical Disk in Grounded 2 (Toxic Tangle)
The Pumpkin Patch Optical Disk in Grounded 2 is now inside the Scarecrow, past a broken glass room at the end of a short lab corridor. Obsidian relocated it here with the Beat the Heat update, listed as version 0.4 on the game’s official site, off its earlier spawn near the Greenhouse and Ranger Outpost.
The team at MetaForge tested this route on the current build after the Beat the Heat update went live on April 14, 2026, tracing the climb in from the Pumpkin Patch entrance to confirm exactly where the disk sits now.
What You Need Before You Go
A short supply check before you set out saves you a return trip partway through the climb.
- Tier 3 Omni-Axe: Two dark, hollow spots on the pumpkin’s shell block your path in, and only break open under a Tier 3 Omni-Axe.
- Healing supplies: Bring bandages or salves rather than relying only on what you find inside, since you’ll fight a mosquito, several spiders, and a beetle before reaching the Scarecrow.
- A ranged or area option: Useful but not required for the web section, where spiders spawn in a tight space partway up the vine.

Step-by-Step Route to the Pumpkin Patch Optical Disk
Follow this order starting from the Pumpkin Patch Ranger Station entrance to reach the Scarecrow and the disk inside it.
- At the entrance, turn around and climb the vine directly in front of you. It’s a safe spot to fight, so you can clear the mosquito that spawns here before moving on or wait till you higher up.
- Continue up the same vine toward the pumpkin, jumping across the leaves ahead until you reach a wooden wall.
- Climb onto the wall and head for the vines beyond it, This is where you can fight the mosquito if needed.
- Follow the vine up and to the left, then take a right at the next fork and keep going until you reach the top of the pumpkin. A paper plane sitting to your left marks this spot.
- From the paper plane, jump onto the leaf ahead, then onto the next vine and climb it. Take a left at the top and jump onto the wooden beam.

- Head straight and take a left across a spider web, fighting off the spiders that spawn there, then continue up and take a right toward the door at the top.
- Follow the vine down to a dark spot on the pumpkin’s shell. Break it open with your Tier 3 Omni-Axe and head inside.
- A spider and a beetle both spawn in this pocket. Position yourself near the beetle so the spider follows and the two fight each other, then finish off the second spider that drops from the web on its own.
- Break open the second dark spot to exit, then follow the vine all the way to the lab entrance. There’s little to find inside, but it’s worth a look if you haven’t been before.

- Continue through the lab and out the other side, then drop onto the vine below the leaves and follow it until you can jump onto the leaf to the right.
- Jump leaf to leaf onto the branch, then follow that branch all the way to the Scarecrow entrance.
- Inside, grab the tape from the red bin along with any granola bars and bandages in this room and the next. It’s also a reasonable spot to set a respawn point.
- Head out, take a right, then another right, and go up the ramp. Then head right past an earwig, which can’t reach you through the broken glass.
- Go through the door and grab the note on the console, then turn around. The Pumpkin Patch optical disk is right there.

Enemies and Hazards Along the Route
Nothing on this path is difficult on its own, but several fights happen in tight spaces where getting surrounded is the real risk.
- Mosquitoes: A Mosquito spawns early on, in the small clearings built into the climb, so they’re straightforward to fight.
- Spiders:Orb Weavers found on the web partway up the vine and again inside the pumpkin’s hollow interior, where they can spawn alongside a beetle.
- Beetle: A Rust Beetle shares the interior pocket with a spider behind the first dark spot on the pumpkin’s shell.
- Earwig: A Pincher Earwig positioned near the broken glass room close to the Scarecrow’s lab, but it can’t reach you from the path this route takes.

What the Pumpkin Patch Optical Disk Unlocks
Inserting the Pumpkin Patch optical disk at a Ranger Station terminal opens up research for the recipes below. The unlocks themselves haven’t changed, only the disk’s location has, and neither Obsidian’s Steam announcement nor its own forum patch notes for the update mention otherwise.
| Unlock | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Spicy Glob | Smithing recipe |
| Pumpkin Patch cookbook | Fall Feast and Wasperole recipes |
| Garden sign set | Base decoration pieces |
Carry the disk to your nearest Ranger Station to unlock these, then head back out to the Pumpkin Patch or the Scarecrow to gather what you need to craft them.
